Alison Hammond, co-host of This Morning on the Friday slot alongside Dermot O’Leary, has sparked a wave of online backlash after her energetic approach during a playful segment on the show. Fans quickly took to social media, demanding she tone down her loud interruptions and nonstop chatter.
During the episode, Alison joined ITV stars Ben (51) and Cat (49) in a fun challenge with MC Grammar, who invited them to rap the classic children’s book Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. While the segment was intended to be lighthearted, Alison’s frequent interruptions and overenthusiastic style left viewers less than impressed.
One viewer tweeted, “Why is Alison shouting already?” while another jokingly wrote, “The house is practically shaking from all that noise!” Several others urged Alison to stop interrupting, with one comment simply stating, “Please just stop!”
Over-Talking and Cringe-Worthy Moments
Fans voiced their frustration over Alison’s tendency to cut off guests mid-answer or ignore their responses entirely. Her non-stop laughing and loud interjections were repeatedly labeled “infuriating” by viewers. “Cut the cackling, Alison,” one tweet said, while others echoed similar sentiments.
The tension isn’t new. Over the years, Alison’s energetic presenting style has occasionally rubbed some viewers the wrong way, with awkward moments and controversial on-air comments generating debates about double standards.
Despite the backlash, Alison and Dermot continued with the show, covering various topics, including MC Grammar’s attempt to break a world record. Yet, for many, the chaotic energy of the presenting duo overshadowed the segment, leaving them longing for a more subdued broadcast.
