The TV personality credits the tough conversation she had with Jamie at that time as a turning point that ultimately saved his career.

The couple met in 2014 when Rebekah was working at The Viper Rooms nightclub in Sheffield, where she was tasked with organizing Jamie’s 27th birthday celebration. Just three months after meeting, they were expecting their first child together, a daughter named Sofia.Rebekah Vardy has recalled the moment her husband Jamie missed her first pregnancy scan due to his excessive drinking and partying

In an upcoming Netflix documentary set for release on May 12, Rebekah recalls a moment when she stormed into a nightclub to find Jamie drinking with friends instead of being with her at the scan. It was during this heated confrontation that Jamie admitted to partying as a way to cope with the immense pressure of signing with Leicester City.

“I’m not telling you to stop drinking. I’m just telling you to rein it in,” Rebekah said. The two spent hours talking, which Rebekah describes as a therapy session for Jamie. She told him that he was on the verge of ruining everything he had worked so hard for if he didn’t change his lifestyle. Jamie admitted that the conversation was exactly what he needed to hear. “It was 100% what I needed,” he later said.

The documentary sheds light on Jamie’s rise to fame and includes interviews with Rebekah, his teammates, managers, and old friends. Rebekah also reminisced about their first meeting, revealing that Jamie was incredibly persistent in pursuing her. Their daughter Sofia was born in 2014, and the couple married in 2016 at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. The wedding was attended by a star-studded guest list, including One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, rapper Tinchy Stryder, and members of Leicester City’s football team. However, Jamie’s mother, Lisa, and stepfather, Phil, were notably absent due to a rift between them and Rebekah.

The couple went on to have two more children—son Finlay in 2017 and daughter Olivia in 2020. Rebekah also has two children, Megan and Taylor, from previous relationships, with Jamie later adopting Megan. Jamie’s daughter Ella, from a previous relationship with Emma Daggett, was kept away from the wedding, further straining family dynamics.

Today, Rebekah and Jamie have a growing family and a bond stronger than ever, with the documentary offering a glimpse into the highs and lows of their journey together.
