Her famous mother, Naomi, 57, matched her daughter in a stylish all-black outfit, opting for a black strapless top with a curved neckline and matching black trousers. Naomi completed her look with heels that added inches to her frame, and a mini black clutch to carry her essentials. The duo posed for photographers ahead of the show, with Naomi beaming with pride as she stood beside Kai.
Kai, who has been making waves in the fashion world, has opened up about her journey as a young trans woman. In an interview with Interview Magazine, she shared that from a young age, she aspired to become a glamorous and influential woman, much like Marilyn Monroe. Kai also credited other transgender role models in the fashion industry, such as Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, and Hari Nef, for inspiring her as she navigates life as a transgender woman.
Reflecting on her rise to fame, Kai mentioned a breakthrough moment earlier this year when she worked for Valentino. “That job made me realize, ‘OK, this is what I want to do. I want to be a supermodel.’ Period,” Kai confessed.
Kai’s father, Liev Schreiber, has also praised her strength and bravery in her coming-out journey. In an interview with Variety, he expressed his pride in Kai, saying, “Kai was always who Kai is,” and praised her for being a fighter. Liev also shared his thoughts on parenting a transgender child, acknowledging the unique challenges while emphasizing the importance of supporting their journey.
Despite their split in 2016, Naomi and Liev remain united in their support of their children, including their 17-year-old son, Sasha.
