John, 64, passed away in February 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lorna tearfully explained how his death was not like the romanticized portrayals often seen in films. “It wasn’t anything like you see in the films. I’d imagined me nattering away to him until the last minute, and him squeezing my hand,” she shared, recalling how, instead, “every breath became a chore” for him in his final moments.
