Loose Women star Kaye Adams has opened up about her recent cancer scare after discovering a lump on her neck, revealing that she underwent a biopsy to assess the situation. The TV presenter, who has been candid about her health journey, shared her experience with her listeners on her How To Be 60 podcast, where she discussed the emotional rollercoaster of dealing with the uncertainty.

The Discovery of the Lump
Kaye’s health scare began after an interview with comedian and writer Mark Steel, who had shared his experience with throat cancer. Following the conversation, Kaye began to self-check and noticed a lump in her neck. Initially, she didn’t mention it to anyone, concerned that it would add to the stresses her colleagues were already facing. “I didn’t tell you for ages because of course you were going through what you were going through,” she explained, referring to the personal struggles her friends were facing at the time.
After weeks of worry, Kaye consulted a nurse friend, who immediately recommended that she get it checked out. “I thought she’d tell me, ‘Oh don’t be so stupid!’ But instead, she said, ‘I’d get that checked if I were you,’” Kaye recalled. This advice pushed her to take action and schedule an appointment with her doctor.
The Medical Journey

After several tests, including a blood test, Kaye was referred to a specialist, who recommended a scan and a biopsy. The worry about the unknown weighed heavily on Kaye during this time, as she confessed, “You spend however long thinking ‘Oh my God, this is it!’”
Kaye shared that when the biopsy was performed, the procedure was uncomfortable but manageable. “It was a needle in your neck, they’ve got to try and get cells out of this… it’s a node on my thyroid,” Kaye explained. While the biopsy showed no immediate concerns, she was informed that the lump would need to be monitored regularly. “It might have to come out, might not have to come out. We’ll see,” she said with a cautious optimism.
Positive Signs and Ongoing Monitoring

Despite the scare, Kaye found some comfort in the fact that the lump hasn’t grown since its discovery. “The lump hasn’t grown, but it still needs to be monitored,” she noted. Doctors will continue to keep a close eye on it in the coming months, looking for any changes in size, shape, or color that could indicate a need for further action.
Kaye, who’s known for her candidness, added that the experience of having a needle inserted into her neck was strange, and left her with some bruising. “It was quite weird to see somebody come at your neck with a big needle. I’m a bit bruised but anyway I’m fine,” she said, making light of the situation as she reassured fans that she’s coping well.
A Test of Strength and Resilience

Through her openness, Kaye has demonstrated strength and resilience in the face of fear and uncertainty. Her health scare serves as a reminder of the importance of self-checks, early detection, and staying proactive about health concerns. Kaye has been an advocate for wellness in her later years and continues to emphasize the importance of monitoring one’s health as part of a balanced lifestyle.
As she continues to monitor her health, Kaye remains committed to her role on Loose Women and continues to share her journey with fans, inspiring others to take charge of their well-being with the same courage and humor that she has displayed.
