Loose Women Faces Crisis Talks Over Nadia Sawalha’s Future Amid Backlash Over Alleged Antisemitic Posts ⚠️📺

Loose Women is reportedly under mounting pressure to drop longtime panellist Nadia Sawalha as ITV bosses face a growing backlash over accusations that she shared and defended antisemitic content online.

The actress and presenter, 61, has been absent from the daytime panel since the end of April after controversy erupted over social media posts and videos connected to her husband, Mark Adderley, who was recently suspended by the Green Party following anti-Israel remarks.

Now, the row appears to have escalated into a serious crisis behind the scenes at ITV.

According to reports, a number of leading Jewish industry figures have sent ITV executives a 15-page letter urging the broadcaster not to reinstate Nadia on the show. The letter reportedly raised concerns that her online conduct went beyond legitimate criticism of Israeli government policy and into the promotion of antisemitic conspiracy narratives.

The claims remain highly sensitive and contested, but the pressure on ITV is growing.

Insiders have described the atmosphere around Loose Women as “poisonous” and “toxic,” with some colleagues said to be furious at the possibility of Nadia returning to the panel. One source claimed at least one panellist has told friends she could refuse to appear if Nadia is brought back.

That allegation, if accurate, suggests the dispute is no longer just a social media controversy.

It has become a workplace crisis. 💥

Nadia has been part of Loose Women since its original line-up in 1999 and has long been one of the programme’s most recognisable faces. Known for her emotional honesty, family stories and outspoken opinions, she has built a loyal audience over decades.

But the current row threatens to overshadow that legacy.

The controversy intensified after Nadia defended her husband following his Green Party suspension. Adderley had reportedly compared Israel to Nazi Germany and appeared in videos that referred to alleged “Israeli false flag” operations. Nadia later called him “the most decent, kind, super smart man with the hugest of hearts,” while insisting accusations had been taken out of context.

She also blamed “dark forces” and claimed her husband had been unfairly punished for speaking up for Palestinians.

Those comments have drawn fierce criticism from campaigners and industry figures, who say the language echoes conspiratorial tropes. The Campaign Against Antisemitism previously called on Loose Women to investigate whether Nadia’s conduct was compatible with her role on a mainstream daytime show.

The 15-page letter to ITV was reportedly signed by figures including former ITV executive Claudia Rosencrantz, former BBC Television director Danny Cohen and Fulwell Entertainment co-CEO Leo Pearlman. It allegedly warned that bringing Nadia back could cause significant reputational damage to ITV and its programming.

That is the dilemma now facing bosses.

If ITV reinstates Nadia, it risks angering campaigners, Jewish viewers, advertisers and some colleagues.

If it removes her permanently, it risks backlash from supporters who believe she is being punished for political expression.

Either way, the broadcaster is now caught in a painful and very public storm. ⚠️

Reports suggest advertisers may also be a concern, particularly at a time when Loose Women is already under pressure following budget cuts. One insider claimed some staff believe other stars have been punished for less serious issues, while Nadia appears to be receiving more protection from executives.

That perception has reportedly fuelled resentment behind the scenes.

ITV has not publicly confirmed that Nadia has been dropped, and earlier reports said both the broadcaster and the presenter may simply need “space” while the situation is reviewed. Representatives for ITV and Nadia were contacted for comment, according to the report.

For now, Nadia is not expected back on air immediately.

But the longer her absence continues, the louder the questions become.

Can she return to Loose Women after such serious accusations?

Would colleagues be willing to share the panel with her?

And can ITV protect the reputation of one of its most familiar daytime brands while navigating a row involving antisemitism, politics, free speech and social media?

There are no easy answers.

What is clear is that Loose Women, once known for fiery but light daytime debate, is now facing one of the most difficult controversies in its history.

For Nadia Sawalha, the future of a decades-long ITV career may now depend on what happens behind closed doors in crisis talks.

For ITV, the decision could prove defining.

And for viewers, the question is simple: will one of the show’s original stars ever return to the panel — or has the fallout already gone too far? 📺
