Kerry Katona Opens Up About Heartbreaking Loss and Plans for the Future with Paolo Margaglione
Kerry Katona, 45, has opened up about the devastating loss she suffered last December, revealing her miscarriage while speaking on the We Need to Talk podcast with her partner, Paolo Margaglione, 33. The couple, who share an 11-year age gap, discussed their hopes for the future and their relationship, which has captured the attention of friends and family eager to know when Paolo might pop the question.
During the candid conversation, Kerry, a mum-of-five, recalled her near-death experience during the birth of her youngest daughter, Dylan-Jorge, in 2014, revealing that she nearly lost her life during the traumatic delivery. She also shared her heartbreaking experience of losing another baby just before Christmas last year.
“I never expected to get pregnant at this stage in my life,” Kerry explained. She revealed that she found out she was pregnant during the finale of Celebs Go Dating, the show where she and Paolo met. The news came as a shock to Kerry, who had been trying for seven years without success. Unfortunately, she miscarried shortly after.
“We tried, we tried, and then we told the kids about it,” Kerry said, her voice heavy with emotion. “It was a tough time, especially for Paolo, whose youngest children had a lot of mixed feelings.”
The couple, who moved in together just two months after meeting, has blended their families seamlessly. Paolo, who has two daughters from a previous relationship, and Kerry, who shares five children with her ex-partners, have formed a strong, united family.
Despite their shared joy in building a life together, Paolo expressed concern about having a baby with Kerry, given the traumatic birth of their daughter Dylan-Jorge, who stopped breathing shortly after birth. “It would be very selfish for me to want that with Kerry when she has five beautiful children who need her healthy and fit,” Paolo explained, making it clear that he values her wellbeing above all else.
However, he revealed he is open to the idea of having a child with Kerry if the timing is right and she is healthy enough. “I’d have a child with Kerry tomorrow,” Paolo said. “But it all depends on her being fit and healthy.”
The couple’s chemistry is undeniable. Despite the significant age difference, Kerry spoke about the connection she shares with Paolo, describing it as something “magical.” “It’s like being sucker-punched in the stomach. I’ve got it now, and I hope it works,” she said. “Even if it doesn’t, I’ll never forget this feeling.”
As for their future together, Kerry expressed her eagerness to marry Paolo, though she joked that she isn’t willing to wait too long, saying, “I don’t want to walk down the aisle with a Zimmer frame!” Paolo, meanwhile, assured that he would propose when the time felt right, but only when it truly felt like the right moment for both of them.
The couple’s journey of love and family continues to unfold, as they remain hopeful and resilient despite the hardships they’ve faced. Their story is one of love, loss, and the hope for a brighter future together.
