Katie Price’s husband, Lee Andrews, has made a bold and ambitious claim: he’s bidding £2 billion to buy a majority stake in Chelsea Football Club. The Premier League giants are currently owned by the BlueCo consortium, led by American businessman Todd Boehly, who bought the club for £4.25 billion in 2022.
Lee, 41, a self-described multimillionaire businessman, revealed that he has already made the offer to BlueCo, with the bid currently standing at £2 billion for a 55% stake. He expressed confidence that the deal will be finalized by the end of the year, though the offer has yet to be confirmed or accepted.
“I can’t tell you all the workings and inner parts to my wealth, but definitely the money is there. They have to accept and verify, but it will be going in,” Lee exclusively told The Sun.
Despite his confidence, Lee has a history of making questionable claims. He has previously been accused of fabricating meetings with celebrities and inventing fake awards. He even claimed to be a doctor, though Katie herself has been unsure of the source of his claimed PhD.
Lee’s bid comes after Chelsea posted a record-breaking £262.4 million pre-tax loss for the 2024-2025 season. The club’s financial struggles have only added to the uncertainty surrounding its ownership.
Lee also made headlines recently for purchasing a £36 million mansion on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah for himself and Katie. However, Katie has since clarified that she has no plans to move to Dubai, stating that her family is based in the UK.
The bid for Chelsea FC has raised eyebrows, and questions linger about the legitimacy of Lee’s wealth and his business ventures. Despite these concerns, Lee remains firm, stating, “It sounds crazy, it sounds ambitious, but watch this space.”
Will Lee Andrews’ claim prove to be another one of his grand ambitions, or will he become the new owner of one of the UK’s biggest football clubs? Time will tell.
