Kate Garraway All Smiles As She Grows Close To New Companion Liam Halligan
Kate Garraway appeared relaxed and happy as she shared a warm moment with her new companion Liam Halligan while supporting him at a charity cycling event.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 59, was seen smiling and laughing with broadcaster and journalist Liam, 56, as she waved him off ahead of his 300km charity bike ride from London to Paris.

In the pictures, Kate looked in high spirits as she stood close to Liam, who was dressed in cycling gear for the challenge. At one point, the pair were seen looking at a phone together, while Liam placed an arm around her in a relaxed and affectionate gesture.
Liam was also a friend of Kate’s late husband Derek Draper, who died in 2024 following long-term complications from Covid. Kate spent years caring for Derek after he became seriously ill, and has spoken openly about the emotional toll of his illness and death.

A friend said the relationship between Kate and Liam is still in its early stages, but added that the pair have been spending more time together and are gradually becoming part of each other’s lives.
“They are very happy at the moment, but they are not rushing anything,” the source said. “Kate has known Liam for more than 20 years, so there is a real sense of familiarity and safety between them.”

Liam previously confirmed that he and Kate had grown closer in recent months, saying they “laugh a lot” and enjoy one another’s company. He also admitted there was “a spark” between them, while stressing that the situation was still very new.
Kate’s appearance at the charity event comes after fans recently noticed she was no longer wearing her wedding ring on her wedding finger. However, her representative explained that she had removed the rings for a challenge on Celebrity Traitors and now wears them on her right hand every day in memory of Derek.

The television presenter has also recently spoken about the possibility of finding love again, saying she does not want to believe romantic love will never be part of her life in the future.
For now, those close to Kate say she is taking things slowly. After years of heartbreak and personal struggle, her friendship with Liam appears to be bringing warmth, laughter and companionship back into her life.
