Jermaine Jenas has criticised his tense Good Morning Britain interview, claiming one presenter appeared to have a “thirst for blood.”
The former footballer, 43, was questioned by Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh about the inappropriate messages scandal that led to his BBC dismissal in August 2024.
During the interview, Jenas admitted he had “lost everything,” including his television career and family life, and said the past two years had been deeply difficult.
However, tensions rose when Ranvir accused him of avoiding questions about what he had learned from his actions. Kate also pressed him to take responsibility, prompting Jenas to describe one question as unfair.
Speaking afterwards on Instagram, he said he was glad he had faced the interview but felt disappointed by its direction. He claimed producers had suggested the conversation would focus partly on rebuilding his life, yet he believed it became an attempt to “twist the knife.”
Jenas acknowledged making mistakes and said his former wife, Ellie Penfold, and their family continued to suffer because of his behaviour.
