Brad Pitt has been seen enjoying a night out in Paris with girlfriend Ines de Ramon, just as fresh reports about his strained family relationships placed the Hollywood star back in the spotlight.
The 62-year-old actor appeared relaxed and upbeat as he held hands with the 33-year-old jewellery designer during an evening in the French capital. The couple, first linked in late 2022, were spotted attending a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Alhambra, alongside director David Fincher and his wife, producer Ceán Chaffin.
But the glamorous outing came at a sensitive time for Pitt.
According to reports, his eldest son Maddox, 24, has filed legal paperwork asking to remove “Pitt” from his surname for personal reasons. Maddox is one of six children Pitt shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, alongside Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
The move follows similar decisions within the family. Shiloh legally dropped Pitt from her surname last year, while Zahara and Vivienne have also publicly used the name Jolie instead of Jolie-Pitt.
Despite the latest development, Pitt appeared in good spirits in Paris. Dressed in a loose blue silk shirt, purple trousers and sunglasses, the actor smiled as he walked beside de Ramon through the City of Light.
Ines looked elegant in a white lace blouse and high-waisted brown trousers, keeping close to Pitt as the pair joined their famous friends for the concert.
The sighting also reunited Pitt with Fincher, one of his most important creative collaborators. The pair worked together on major films including Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Fincher has also directed Pitt in the upcoming Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood follow-up, The Adventures of Cliff Booth.
Away from the red carpets and film sets, Pitt’s family life has remained under intense public scrutiny since his split from Jolie in 2016.
The former couple’s breakup triggered a long and bitter legal battle involving custody, finances and their former French winery, Château Miraval. Jolie has previously made allegations of abusive behaviour, which Pitt has denied. No charges were filed after an FBI review into a 2016 private plane incident involving the family.
Pitt and Jolie married in 2014 after years as one of Hollywood’s most famous couples, but separated just two years later. Their divorce and legal disputes have continued to make headlines nearly a decade on.
The surname changes among their children have only added to the public impression of distance between Pitt and parts of his family. Maddox’s reported legal move is now being seen as another painful chapter in an already fractured family story.
Still, Pitt’s Paris appearance suggested he is continuing to focus on his personal life and career. His relationship with de Ramon has become increasingly public, with the pair regularly seen together at major events and private outings.
For now, the actor’s romantic life appears steady — but the latest development involving his children shows that the legacy of the Brangelina split is still far from over.
