BBC Look North presenter Amy Garcia has responded with humour after receiving a handwritten letter criticising the length of her on-screen dresses.
The 45-year-old journalist revealed that a viewer had accused her of dressing “like a 17-year-old” and claimed her outfits were too short for her age.
Sharing a cheerful studio photograph in a patterned mini dress and nude heels, Amy jokingly dedicated the outfit to the letter’s author, writing: “This outfit is for Margaret — I hope she approves.”
Fans quickly rallied around the mother of two, praising her style and urging her to ignore the personal criticism. Many described the letter as rude and unnecessary, while others applauded Amy for confidently standing up for herself.
Amy, who became the programme’s main anchor in 2020, previously worked for CBBC, CITV, the Disney Channel and BBC South Today.
