The 26-year-old actor, who was not present in court on April 8 due to work commitments abroad, was handed the driving ban after being caught speeding on the M4 motorway near Bristol last October.

Barney was found driving at 58mph in a 50mph zone, violating a temporary speed restriction in place at the time. His violation occurred on a stretch of the motorway that had imposed a lower speed limit due to roadworks. With nine penalty points already on his driving licence from previous offenses, the latest speeding violation led to an inevitable disqualification.
Barney’s lawyer, Gwyn Lewis, acknowledged the disqualification at Romford Magistrates’ Court, conceding that the decision was “inevitable” due to the accumulation of points. “I’m not instructed to resist the disqualification and he has been told he is not to drive from last night,” Lewis explained in court.
The Previous Incident: A Separate Speeding Fine
This latest offense follows a separate speeding incident from September 2024, in which Barney was caught driving at 95mph on the same stretch of motorway in a 2023-plate Mercedes. This led to a £1,000 fine, marking him as a repeat offender. His lawyer confirmed that Barney was “in a position” to pay the fine, which now totals £185 for the current offense.
