Amanda Holden Defies Criticism and Vows to Continue Wearing Bold Outfits on Britain’s Got Talent
Amanda Holden has once again made it clear that she will not tone down her daring Britain’s Got Talent outfits, despite facing criticism from viewers in the past. The 51-year-old judge proudly declared that she enjoys wearing latex and isn’t letting the naysayers stop her from making bold fashion statements.
Over the years, Amanda’s provocative attire has often sparked controversy, with some outfits prompting hundreds of complaints to Ofcom. One such moment occurred during the 2017 semi-finals when her plunging black gown generated 663 complaints. A revealing gown worn in 2020 also received 235 complaints from viewers.
But Amanda is unfazed by the backlash. She told The Mirror: “I’m thinking more rubber. I enjoyed wearing latex in the auditions, so I’m thinking more latex, more sweating in the lives.” She continued to laugh off the complaints, recalling how her mother, Judith, supports her fashion choices. “Mum said, ‘Let them talk. You look better than girls half your age.'”
Amanda believes Britain’s Got Talent is the perfect opportunity for her to take fashion risks. “Times have changed,” she said. “I don’t feel anyone should feel pressure to dress for your age. It’s all about body positivity and feeling good.”
In a playful moment, Amanda joked about her infamous breasts, saying they might need separate representation. “I’m seriously thinking my girls need separate representation to me,” she quipped. “They’re going to go off and do Piers Morgan’s Life Stories next year!”
As the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent draws near, Amanda’s daring style continues to dominate the conversation. The show, which returns to ITV on April 16 after two years off-air, is expected to deliver more drama, magic tricks, and jaw-dropping performances, with a teaser trailer showing a Simon Cowell impersonator and a circus performer pulling a heart-shaped sword out of her throat.
No matter the complaints, Amanda is committed to continuing her bold fashion choices and embracing body confidence, setting the stage for yet another memorable season of Britain’s Got Talent.
