Janet and Peter, a 70-year-old former restaurateur, have been in a relationship since 1999, but they’ve kept their romance relatively private. The couple tied the knot in a quiet and intimate ceremony in Great Yarmouth last Saturday, with their beloved dog, Badger, joining in the celebration.

In the video message, Janet shared her joy with the audience, saying, “Hi everyone, I’ve been keeping a big secret. It’s my big news for everyone. Peter and me, and Badger, got married on Saturday, so there you are. I finally did it,” she said, before adding with a smile, “I saved the best till last.”

Her co-stars on Loose Women reacted emotionally to the news, with Brenda Edwards expressing her delight: “Congratulations, Janet! That’s got me quite emotional. I love that.” Kaye Adams, adding a lighthearted touch, remarked, “Fifth time’s the charm!” to which Brenda responded, “It doesn’t matter, she’s got happiness, stop counting the numbers.”

The announcement quickly went viral on social media, with well-wishers flooding the comments. Fellow panellist Coleen Nolan expressed her happiness, writing, “OMG I’m so so happy for you both. Huge congratulations.” Broadcaster Mariella Frostrup jokingly wrote, “Congratulations… presume it precedes Peter’s canonisation?”
