Jenna Bush Hager has revealed her daughter Mila, 12, is a budding prankster, and this April Fools’ Day, Mila pulled off a hilarious and clever prank on her family using AI technology. The Today show co-host shared the funny moment on the April 1 episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.

In the prank, Mila convinced her father, Henry Hager, and her younger sister Poppy, 10, that the family had adopted a dog—one that she had created using ChatGPT and an AI-generated image.

“We were going to the mall, and we stopped at a gas station. Mila said, ‘I have this idea—let’s tell Dad and Poppy and our family group chat that we adopted a dog,’” Jenna recalled, laughing. Mila then sent the AI-created image of a puppy to the family group chat with the message: “Hey, everybody, we got this dog from the gas station.”

A Family Fooled: Reactions to the Prank

The reactions from the family were priceless, as they believed the prank but with different levels of skepticism. “Henry was like, ‘Okay, but that dog looks like it belongs to someone,’” Jenna continued. “He didn’t want to say no, but he was like, ‘That dog looks like it belongs to a loving family.’”

Thinking quickly, Mila responded that the gas station had asked them to adopt the dog. When Henry raised concerns about the two cats at home, Mila cleverly added that there was also a cat at the gas station.

Meanwhile, Poppy was already falling for the adorable “dog,” suggesting they name him “Scruffy.” Jenna couldn’t help but laugh at how quickly Poppy got emotionally invested in the fake puppy.

The Big Reveal: Mila’s Response to Her Family’s Excitement

After leaving the mall and receiving a flood of texts asking, “What’s the name of the dog?” Mila finally revealed the truth. “She just wrote back, ‘The name is a prank,’” Jenna shared, bringing the fun story to a close.

Jenna, who admitted that she understands Mila’s passion for pranking, joked about how hard it can be to raise a mini prankster. “You know, it’s hard to raise a prankster. But as one, I get it,” Jenna said, showing her support for her daughter’s playful side.
