Jo Wood Reveals Her Secrets to Staying Slim and Healthy at 71: A Look Inside Her Organic Diet and Daily Routine
At 71, Jo Wood has proven that age is just a number when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and slim figure. The TV personality and model, who has embraced a fully organic diet for years, opened up about her daily eating habits and the lifestyle choices that keep her feeling vibrant.
Jo spends around £80-£100 each week on organic groceries, ensuring that her fridge is always stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. Known for her strict diet, Jo follows a routine that includes intermittent fasting, often waiting until midday before having her first meal of the day.
“I always start with a matcha latte or a decaf latte, blended with my favorite powders: Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, Astragalus, He Shou Wu, Maca, and Reishi,” Jo told Bella. Her lunch is usually simple but satisfying, like a banana mashed on organic bread with olive oil and cinnamon, or kefir with honey and banana.
When it comes to snacks, Jo prefers seaweed strips or fresh fruits like apples and pears. For dinner, she keeps things light and fresh, often opting for wild-caught cod paired with a crisp cucumber salad. However, Jo admits that she does allow herself a small indulgence—half a bar of Green & Black’s chocolate—at the end of the day.
Despite her healthy eating habits, Jo doesn’t shy away from occasionally treating herself. “I always enjoy a bit of chocolate in the evenings,” she confessed, proving that balance is key.
Jo, who was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2005, made the decision to cut all processed foods from her diet after visiting a herbalist. This lifestyle change not only helped alleviate her symptoms but also set her on a path toward holistic wellness. She has since become a vocal critic of weight-loss jabs, firmly believing that such quick fixes aren’t suitable for middle-aged women.
In addition to her organic diet, Jo continues to defy expectations in the fashion world. Last month, she strutted down the runway for Vin+Omi’s London Fashion Week show, turning heads in a black lace bra under a black blazer emblazoned with the word “lies.” This wasn’t her first appearance on the catwalk for the sustainable fashion brand; she had previously walked for them in 2022 and 2024.
Jo’s enduring beauty and vitality prove that taking care of your health, both physically and mentally, is the key to aging gracefully. Her dedication to a clean diet, combined with her positive outlook and self-love, is an inspiration to women everywhere.
