Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany has celebrated his record-breaking new contract with a heartfelt declaration of loyalty to Kansas City.
The Chiefs superstar has reportedly agreed to a reworked deal worth $504.75 million, keeping him with the franchise through the 2033 season.
With incentives and escalators, the agreement could rise to $522.25 million, making it the first NFL contract valued at more than half a billion dollars.
But for Brittany, the landmark announcement appeared to mean more than money.
Sharing family photographs from the Chiefs’ facility, she wrote: “Red is our color & Kansas City is our home.”
A family celebration
Brittany attended the contract-signing moment with the couple’s three children — Sterling Skye, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon III and Golden Raye.
The photographs showed the Mahomes family together as Patrick officially committed the next stage of his career to the team that drafted him in 2017.
Patrick responded to his wife’s emotional post with three red heart emojis.
The Chiefs’ official social media account also celebrated the family, writing: “Chiefs Kingdom is lucky to have the Mahomes family. Congrats you guys!”
For supporters, the pictures carried a powerful message.
Mahomes is not merely remaining with an NFL team.
He and Brittany have built their adult lives, family and public identity in Kansas City — and now appear ready to stay for the long term.
An NFL-record agreement
Mahomes’ restructured contract reportedly includes $239.05 million in new money.
Beginning in 2027, the new portion of the deal is expected to average approximately $64 million per season, setting a league record for average annual value.
The first four years are reportedly guaranteed at signing, while contract mechanisms could eventually guarantee the entire $504.75 million value.
The extension adds two years to Mahomes’ existing agreement and ties him to the Chiefs until he is 38.
It is an extraordinary commitment from Kansas City, but one the franchise believes reflects his unmatched impact.
“We have so much more to do”
Mahomes made clear that the new contract has not reduced his hunger for more success.
In a video message following the announcement, the quarterback said he was thrilled to remain part of Chiefs Kingdom for life.
He then turned his attention toward what comes next.
“We have so much more to do,” Mahomes said. “Let’s go win some more.”
The message will excite Chiefs supporters who endured the disappointment of a 6-11 season in 2025.
Kansas City missed the playoffs after three consecutive Super Bowl appearances, while Mahomes’ year ended early because of a serious knee injury.
Now, the quarterback is working toward a comeback while the franchise doubles down on its belief that the championship era can continue.
The decision that transformed Kansas City
The Chiefs selected Mahomes with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
At the time, Kansas City traded up to secure the Texas Tech quarterback despite already having a proven starter.
That gamble changed the franchise forever.
Since becoming the full-time starter in 2018, Mahomes has led the Chiefs to five Super Bowl appearances and three championships.
He has won two league MVP awards and become one of the most recognisable athletes in American sport.
His extraordinary throws, late-game comebacks and postseason performances have helped turn Kansas City into an international football brand.
The new contract reflects not only his production, but everything he has come to represent.
Clark Hunt praises a “generational talent”
Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt described Mahomes as one of the most iconic and beloved figures in sport.
He praised the quarterback for leading Kansas City through the most successful era in the franchise’s history and helping place the city on the world stage.
Hunt also highlighted Mahomes’ work away from football, calling him an outstanding role model in the community.
“Patrick is a generational talent and an elite human being,” Hunt said, adding that he was excited for Mahomes to continue leading the team into the future.
General manager Brett Veach also described the agreement as a landmark deal for a once-in-a-lifetime player.
Veach credited Mahomes with changing the culture inside the Chiefs’ building and leading the franchise through a period of unprecedented success.
Brittany has been there through it all
Brittany’s message resonated because she has witnessed every chapter of Patrick’s rise.
The couple were together long before the NFL contracts, Super Bowl trophies and global fame.
She has celebrated the victories, supported him through the pressure and remained beside him as they built a family in Kansas City.
Her post reflected the sense that this contract was not simply Patrick’s achievement.
It was a family milestone.
The Mahomes children are growing up around Arrowhead Stadium.
Brittany has established deep connections to the city through her family, businesses and involvement with the Kansas City Current.
And Patrick has become inseparable from the identity of Chiefs Kingdom.
A historic deal and a clear message
The numbers surrounding Mahomes’ contract are staggering.
More than half a billion dollars.
A reported $64 million annual average beginning in 2027.
A commitment stretching through the 2033 season.
But Brittany reduced the moment to something far more personal.
Red is their colour.
Kansas City is their home.
And after three championships, countless records and one disappointing season, the Mahomes family is not preparing to leave.
They are preparing for the next chapter — and Patrick believes there are still more Lombardi Trophies waiting to be won.
