Pete Wicks has found himself at the centre of an unexpected social media storm after a fan raised concerns about the weight of his much-loved French Bulldog, Eric.
The former TOWIE star and Strictly favourite recently shared a series of sweet Instagram photos featuring Eric and his rescue Rottweiler, Rodney, while on the road for his Staying Relevant podcast tour.
But one comment quickly caught attention, as a follower suggested one of his dogs appeared “terribly overweight” and questioned whether overfeeding could be the reason.
Fans immediately rushed to Pete’s defence, insisting Eric is elderly and has health issues. One supporter explained that Pete is deeply devoted to his dogs and always makes sure they are properly cared for.
Pete responded with a simple heart emoji, quietly showing his appreciation for the support.

Working alongside Dogs Trust, the show follows dogs in need as they are rescued, rehabilitated and given the chance to find loving new homes.
Pete said he feels “blessed” to continue doing work that means so much to him — and fans are already excited to see him back helping vulnerable dogs.
