Maya Jama Breaks Silence On Ruben Dias Split With Emotional Statement About Love And Privacy
Maya Jama has broken her silence following her split from footballer Ruben Dias, sharing a candid message about love, privacy and refusing to let public opinion dictate her personal life.
The Love Island host addressed the end of the relationship in a heartfelt comment beneath a post from the Cocktails and Takeaways podcast, after the clip referenced her recent break-up.

Her response quickly caught attention online, gaining thousands of reactions from fans who praised her honesty and confidence.
Maya wrote that even when she tries to keep her relationships private, she and her partners still end up being photographed in public. She explained that she does not approach romance casually, describing herself as an “all or nothing” person when it comes to love.

“I’ll love out loud or not at all,” she said, adding that if a relationship comes to an end, she accepts it and moves forward.
The presenter also made it clear that she made a decision long ago not to allow outside noise to shape her private choices.
The comment marks Maya’s first public response since reports emerged that she and Ruben had ended their romance after around 18 months together.

The pair are believed to have started dating in December 2024 after meeting at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester the month before. Their relationship quickly drew attention from fans, particularly as both continued to balance demanding international careers.
According to reports, Maya and Ruben ended things in late April, shortly before Maya flew to Inverness to film The Celebrity Traitors. The former couple later removed traces of their relationship from Instagram, including previously shared romantic pictures.

A source close to the pair previously claimed there was still affection and respect between them, but that the timing had become difficult. With Maya facing a packed summer of television commitments and Ruben focusing on his football career, they reportedly decided it was best to go their separate ways.
Since the split, Maya has appeared determined to stay focused on work. Alongside filming The Celebrity Traitors, she has returned as host of Love Island and fronted a new campaign for Agent Provocateur Swim 2026.
The campaign also drew attention to Maya’s Arabic tattoo, which translates to: “Love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like nobody’s watching.”
For many fans, the message now feels especially fitting.
While Maya has chosen not to reveal every detail of the break-up, her latest statement suggests she is embracing the next chapter with the same openness, strength and independence that have made her one of British television’s most talked-about stars.
