Irish boy band Boyzone is gearing up for their highly anticipated farewell performances at Emirates Stadium, marking the first of two final shows. Speaking ahead of rehearsals, Ronan Keating expressed his excitement and apprehension: “God, please help us get through those shows. I just want to be there and celebrate afterward with champagne.” Keith Duffy added, “We’re all a little nervous, but it’s part of what makes this special.”

The farewell concerts come nearly three decades after Boyzone first formed in 1993. The band, known for hits like “No Matter What,” which reached number one in 1998, have sold millions of records globally and continue to attract devoted fans. The overwhelming demand for their Emirates show led to the addition of a second performance to accommodate supporters.

Boyzone’s journey has been marked by both triumph and tragedy. The sudden passing of member Stephen Gately in 2009 left a lasting impact, and the group plans to pay a special tribute to him during the upcoming shows. Keith Duffy reflected, “We’re at our peak, but losing Steo was devastating. These concerts will have a moment dedicated to him—it will be visually and emotionally powerful.”

The farewell tour follows a documentary series aired on Sky, chronicling the band’s career, including disputes with former manager Louis Walsh, their 2000 breakup, and subsequent reunion. Ronan Keating highlighted the importance of the fans, saying, “Seeing 45,000 people each night just blows my mind. It’s incredible.”

While the concerts mark the end of Boyzone as a performing group, the members emphasized that they will remain friends and continue their personal endeavors. “We won’t be reforming as a band again. We’re individuals now,” Shane Lynch noted.

Fans from around the globe will witness the closing chapter of one of Ireland’s most beloved pop acts, celebrating their legacy and the music that defined a generation.
