Tess Daly Dances With Daughter Phoebe Hours Before Announcing Split From Vernon Kay
Tess Daly appeared in high spirits as she danced with her daughter Phoebe just hours before announcing her split from husband Vernon Kay after more than two decades of marriage.
The former Strictly Come Dancing presenter, 57, looked strikingly similar to her eldest daughter, 21-year-old Phoebe, as the pair joined forces for a playful TikTok video filmed at home.

In the clip, Phoebe began dancing in a blue blazer and jeans before Tess made a surprise entrance from the side of the frame. The television star showed off her youthful style in a tan Adidas jacket and dark jeans, wearing her blonde hair straight and sleek.
The mother and daughter duo danced along to Salt-N-Pepa’s hit Shoop, with Tess confidently keeping up with Phoebe’s moves before the video came to an end. Phoebe captioned the post: “Mum’s TikTok era pending?”

The light-hearted video was shared shortly before Tess and Vernon publicly confirmed the end of their marriage in a joint Instagram statement. The pair, who married in 2003, share two daughters, Phoebe and 16-year-old Amber.
In their statement, Tess and Vernon said they had decided to separate “with care and mutual respect”. They described the decision as difficult but said it had been made with understanding and a shared desire for what was best for both of them.

The couple also made clear that no third party was involved in the split. They added that they remain close friends and are fully committed to co-parenting their daughters, whom they described as their top priority.

Tess and Vernon were last seen together publicly in February, when they co-hosted an episode of The One Show. Fans have since pointed to earlier signs that the couple may have been living increasingly separate lives, including social media posts showing them apart.
Their announcement marks the end of one of British television’s most familiar showbiz marriages. While the split has shocked many fans, Tess’s joyful moment with Phoebe offered a glimpse of family warmth at a deeply personal time.
