Jack Osbourne Names Daughter Ozzy Matilda in Tribute to Late Father Ozzy Osbourne
March 12, 2026 – In a heartfelt tribute to his legendary father, Jack Osbourne and his wife Aree have named their newborn daughter “Ozzy Matilda Osbourne.”
On Wednesday, the couple shared the joyous news with their followers on Instagram, posting a black-and-white photo of their precious daughter alongside a “Hello World” card confirming her birth on March 5. Jack introduced his daughter’s name with a moving caption: “Introducing Ozzy Matilda Osbourne,” a beautiful tribute to the iconic rockstar Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last year.
In a follow-up Instagram Story, Jack expressed his excitement, writing, “She’s arrived and she’s perfect.” Fans and friends quickly flooded the comments section with well-wishes and congratulatory messages, marking the arrival of the new family member.
Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, tragically passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His death came just days after a poignant final performance with his band Black Sabbath in England, which saw Jack and the entire Osbourne family making the journey from Los Angeles to Birmingham for the farewell show.
A New Addition Amid Grief
The birth of Ozzy Matilda Osbourne has come at a time when Jack is still processing the loss of his father. In a recent conversation on The Sun, Jack revealed how the pregnancy has provided a sense of hope and healing amidst the grief of losing his father.
“It’s been partly a healthy distraction, partly healing,” Jack shared. “In a weird way, it’s been part of a full cycle. It’s taken energy out of the grieving side of things and put it into something more hopeful.” He added that the baby’s arrival has given him a renewed sense of optimism during a difficult time.
Looking Back: Jack Reflects on His Father’s Final Days
Just days before the birth, Jack opened up about the emotional final weeks of his father’s life, recalling a conversation he had with Ozzy on the night after his farewell concert. Jack shared a deeply personal moment when Ozzy told him he wanted to cut his hair off, reflecting on his retirement and the end of his journey as a rock star.
“He was looking at himself in the mirror, and he said, ‘I think I’m going to cut my hair off.’” Jack recalled. “I asked him why, and he said, ‘I’ve retired. I’m not a rock star anymore.’”
Jack fondly remembered how Ozzy had only cut his hair short once, and shaved his head in the 1980s to “p*** off” his mother.
Despite the heartbreaking realization that his father was ready to step away from the spotlight, Jack found solace in the fact that Ozzy had come to terms with his journey.
A Final Farewell
The loss of Ozzy was a profound shock to Jack, who admitted that, despite knowing his father was ill, the quickness of his passing took him by surprise.
