Matt King, Super Hans from Peep Show, Reveals He Suffered a Rare Spinal Stroke
Matt King, the beloved actor known for his role as Super Hans in Peep Show, has shared a shocking health update with fans, revealing he suffered a rare spinal cord stroke on Sunday. The 58-year-old actor disclosed the news on social media, confirming that he was initially paralysed but has since regained some mobility.

In a heartfelt post from his hospital bed, alongside a selfie featuring a teddy bear, Matt wrote, “It’s true. I had a rare stroke of the spinal cord on Sunday. I was initially paralysed but was rushed to The Royal Sussex, and the staff have been amazing.”

Expressing his gratitude for the medical team, Matt also reassured fans that he’s improving, saying, “Can walk again, a bit. My legs were jelly, man. It didn’t feel f****** brilliant. Thank you for all the love and kindness.”

Fans and peers have flooded his social media with support, including his Peep Show co-star Vera Graziadei, who played Elena in the series. She shared a photo of Matt from the show and urged fans to send their “prayers and love” to him. Matt responded to her heartfelt message with his signature humour, referencing The Six Million Dollar Man in his reply: “They will rebuild me, at a cost of exactly six million dollars.”
Known for his role as the eccentric, drug-addled Super Hans in Peep Show, Matt King played the fantasy-prone flatmate to Jez (played by Robert Webb) across nine series of the hit Channel 4 sitcom. Despite Super Hans’ wild character, Matt has clarified that he never personally indulged in the substances his character was known for.

The actor also humorously referenced his character’s infamous episode where Super Hans runs to Windsor after quitting drugs, showing his resilience even in real life.
