Beverley Callard Shares ‘Good News’ as She Prepares to Begin Radiotherapy in Her Fight Against Breast Cancer
Beverley Callard, star of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, has shared a heartwarming update on her health following her breast cancer diagnosis. The 69-year-old actress, who was forced to leave the show due to health concerns, has revealed that her latest test results have brought much-needed relief.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Beverley celebrated the positive news with her fans, explaining that one of the lymph nodes tested for cancerous activity returned a low malignancy score. This result, she explained, is a “really good thing,” as it means she is now able to move forward with her treatment plan much sooner than expected.
“I have some really good news… One of the lymph nodes they sent for testing came back with a low malignancy score, which is fantastic,” Beverley shared with a smile. “This means I can start radiotherapy really soon, which I’m so happy about.”
In the video, Beverley can be seen raising a glass of champagne to celebrate this milestone, alongside her husband Jon. She expressed immense relief, saying, “The next steps are coming up, and I just want to thank everyone for their messages of support.”
Fans and fellow celebrities have flooded Beverley’s post with messages of congratulations, showing their support for the beloved actress. Seann Walsh, a television presenter, commented, “Oh my God, I’m so happy for Bev,” followed by a heart emoji, while Denise Welch added, “So proud of you, Beverley.”
The good news comes after Beverley had to leave I’m A Celebrity earlier this year for medical reasons. During her time on the show, Beverley experienced an “unexpected change,” leading to her breast cancer diagnosis just four months later.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Beverley has remained positive and determined, focusing on her recovery and the next phase of her treatment. She ended the post by sharing her gratitude and love for her supporters, writing, “I can’t even describe the relief… Here’s to the next steps. It’s been an amazing journey, and thank you to everyone for your love and support.”
