It was something she would have been thrilled by, but for me, it was devastating,” Samuel confessed, his voice breaking.
Amid the sadness, Samuel found solace in cherished memories, including a tender moment with Prunella when she was 91. “She asked me, ‘How old am I?’ and I told her, ‘You’re 91, ma.’ She responded, ‘91?’ in such a beautifully timed way, it was almost as if nothing had changed,” Samuel said, laughing through his tears.
