BBC Radio 1 presenter Lauren Layfield has shared the joyous news that she and her husband Luke Beddows are expecting their first child, following IVF treatment. The 35-year-old DJ took to Instagram on Friday evening to reveal the exciting news, showing off her growing baby bump and sharing her excitement with fans.
“Guys, in what’s been called ‘a very off-brand’ move from us…we’re having an actual baby!” Lauren wrote. “After almost 20 years(!) together, little IVF baby Beddows arrives to ruin our lives in June.”
Lauren, who co-presents Life Hacks on Radio 1 and The Official Chart: First Look, continued with humor: “(Honestly, there’s been SO MUCH going on I need to tell you about).” The DJ shared a picture where she was enjoying a snack in her underwear, with Luke placing his hand on her belly.
Another snap in the post featured Luke holding an ultrasound picture as they stood on a London Underground platform, sharing a special moment together.

Lauren has been a beloved voice on BBC Radio 1, where she presents Life Hacks, a weekly show dedicated to open and frank discussions on issues affecting young people. She joined Radio 1 in 2024, taking over the show with Shanequa Paris from Vick Hope and Katie Thistleton. Previously, Lauren worked at Capital FM before moving to BBC.
