Vernon Kay, 52, was seen wearing his wedding ring as he cheered on his beloved Bolton Wanderers at Wembley, witnessing a thrilling 4-1 victory in the League One play-off final on Sunday. The win secured Bolton’s promotion back into the Championship, and the TV and Radio presenter appeared in high spirits despite recent personal news.
Earlier this month, Vernon and Tess Daly, 57, announced the end of their 22-year marriage, describing the split as the “friendliest divorce in showbiz history.” The couple, who share daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16, confirmed they would continue to show mutual care and respect.
In a joint Instagram statement, they revealed their commitment to maintaining a supportive relationship. Last week, the former couple were spotted together at Pub In The Park, taking selfies with fans and enjoying an amicable day out.
Sources say the split is financially straightforward. With both Vernon and Tess having high-profile BBC roles in recent years—Vernon earning around £395,000 on Radio 2 and Tess approximately £400,000 from Strictly Come Dancing—there is little risk of disputes over their estimated £6million fortune. Their Buckinghamshire home, bought 22 years ago for £1.18million, is now worth around £3million.
Despite the breakup, Vernon recently thanked fans for their support on his BBC Radio 2 show, saying: “I just want to say on behalf of myself and Tess, thank you, thank you for all your well-wishes—it’s been greatly appreciated.”
The pair continue to live together at their Beaconsfield home while navigating their new chapter as friendly exes. Their relationship, which began in 2001 and led to a Christmas Day engagement in 2002, now transitions into a supportive co-parenting partnership.
