Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ upscale restaurant, 1587 Prime, located in downtown Kansas City, has recently come under fire from fans for what some are calling a disappointing dining experience. Despite the initial hype surrounding the opening of the restaurant in September 2025, a viral TikTok video by user Nicole Rose has garnered over 600,000 views, highlighting the negative aspects of her visit.
According to Rose, her visit to 1587 Prime on a Thursday night was far from the fine dining experience she expected. She described the service as poor, mentioning that it took 45 minutes for her party to receive the correct drinks after initially being served the wrong ones. Furthermore, she claimed that the server failed to explain key aspects of the dining experience, including the martini-making process at the table. Instead, the server handed them papers to fill out and then “ran away,” which left Rose feeling unimpressed with the service.
The situation worsened when a $33 martini arrived 45 minutes after they were seated, further highlighting the lack of coordination and attention to customer service. Rose and her group were also dissatisfied with the food, criticizing a $25 fried chicken dish and a $100 steak, which they felt was improperly cooked. As a result, their total bill came to $650, which they felt was not justified given the quality of the experience.
Fans of the restaurant, especially those on social media, have voiced their disappointment. Some users even claimed to have worked at the restaurant and quit shortly after its opening, citing frustrations with the operation. One commenter referred to the establishment as a “tourist trap,” while another said, “For $600, Travis Kelce better feed me my steak himself.”
Despite the backlash, 1587 Prime still has its supporters, but this criticism has certainly raised questions about whether the restaurant will be able to live up to the expectations set by its celebrity owners.
