Stacey Solomon Faces Mixed Reactions as She Debuts as Guest Judge on Britain’s Got Talent
Stacey Solomon made her much-anticipated debut as a guest judge on Britain’s Got Talent tonight, but not all fans were impressed with the new addition to the panel.
The Sort Your Life Out presenter, 36, stepped in for Simon Cowell during Saturday’s live auditions, marking a full circle moment after performing for the music mogul 17 years ago. However, despite her long-standing TV career, some viewers weren’t convinced by her judging abilities.
As Stacey joined Alesha Dixon, KSI, and Amanda Holden on the panel, social media lit up with mixed reactions. “Can’t take to Stacey at all… #BGT,” one fan tweeted. Another criticized the panel, saying: “Just when you think Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were unbearable… Dagenham Stacey joins the panel.” A third fan added, “#BGT Has there ever been a less talented judging panel?”
But it wasn’t all negative. Some fans were quick to praise Stacey for settling into her new role, with one tweeting, “I’m loving Stacey as judge – she’s really settling in well #BGT.”
Stacey’s appearance on BGT marks a nostalgic return to the stage that launched her career. In 2009, Stacey rose to fame on The X Factor, where she didn’t just show off her singing talent but also charmed viewers with her down-to-earth personality. Though her singing career didn’t take off as expected, Stacey’s warm and relatable character led to multiple TV opportunities, including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Loose Women, and her own series, Sort Your Life Out.
As the BGT judges prepare for more auditions, only time will tell if Stacey can win over the critics and establish herself as a permanent fixture on the judging panel.
