Scarlett Moffatt has stepped into the ongoing drama surrounding I’m A Celebrity… South Africa after tensions between campmates David Haye and Adam Thomas reached boiling point. The former Gogglebox star, 35, offered her perspective on the fiery feud, defending the controversial comments made by David Haye.
The conflict began last week when the camp was divided into two factions—Team Lions and Team Rhinos—competing for food. Tensions escalated between Haye, 45, and Thomas, 37, when the actor’s team secured a larger portion of food, leading to repeated clashes between the two. The dispute reached its peak when Haye called Thomas “useless” and “lazy” after Thomas asked to skip a trial due to illness.
Adam, who suffers from the autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis, has been battling fatigue and dehydration throughout the competition, making the criticism particularly difficult for him. Thomas later revealed that Haye’s remarks left him feeling “devastated.”
In an appearance on Good Morning Britain today, Scarlett, who was seen comforting Adam in the camp, weighed in on the situation. While she stressed that she didn’t want to take sides, Scarlett clarified, “I don’t think there was any malice intended, I really don’t believe David was trying to hurt anyone. But his delivery was poor.”
However, Scarlett did not hold back when addressing the boxer’s misogynistic comments regarding “ugly girls.” She condemned the remarks, acknowledging that while tensions can run high in the camp, such language was unacceptable.
Meanwhile, I’m A Celeb campmate Sinitta, 62, defended Haye, stating that Adam had “provoked” the situation by taunting the other camp members over their food. “I don’t think there was any bullying, it was just a matter of competitive banter,” Sinitta remarked on Good Morning Britain.
As the drama continues to unfold in the South African jungle, viewers are left to speculate whether the ongoing tensions between Adam, David, and the other contestants will lead to further confrontations.
