Rylan Clark has opened up about the ongoing health struggles of his beloved mum, Linda, after she experienced yet another fall. The 73-year-old, who has become a familiar face on TV in recent years, has faced numerous health issues, including Crohn’s disease, and another tumble that left her with a painful injury. Rylan, who has been a constant source of support for his mum, shared the emotional details of the incident during an appearance on the Chatting to Tea with Nan podcast.
Linda’s Latest Fall
In his candid update, Rylan revealed that Linda had fallen once again, this time while performing a simple task—dragging in the bins after the weekly collection. Rylan explained that he always takes care of this chore on Saturdays before heading to his radio show, but his mum insisted on helping.
“She had a bit of a fall again. She’s a nightmare. I need to wrap her in cotton wool,” Rylan said, humorously acknowledging his mother’s determination to help with the bins.
However, the situation took a concerning turn when Linda slipped on a patch of ice outside her house while trying to drag the bins in. “It wasn’t her fault,” Rylan clarified. “I’ve got it on the Ring camera. Thank God I saw it. She literally walked out, and when it was icy, she slipped… it was horrible to watch, to be fair.”
Unfortunately, Linda fractured a bone in her shoulder during the fall and was unable to raise her arm above her shoulder for some time. While Rylan admitted the incident was difficult to watch, he also shared a positive update, revealing that Linda’s injury had mostly healed, and she had regained the ability to drive herself around again. “She was bad. But, you know what? Touch wood, she’s good,” he said. “Next up; facelift.”
Linda’s Previous Health Setbacks
This latest fall is not the first time Linda has faced serious health challenges. In September 2024, during a trip to Marbella, Linda suffered a traumatic accident that resulted in a broken arm and leg. The complications from Crohn’s disease made her recovery more difficult, and Rylan took time off from his Radio 2 show to care for her.
At that time, Rylan made sure his mum received the best care, even hiring a private jet to fly her back to the UK for further treatment. Reflecting on the experience, Rylan joked, “My first experience on a private plane was a medical one, how’s your luck.”
Despite the severity of her injuries, Linda’s recovery was positive, and Rylan later shared that she was doing “really, really well.” “She’s stumbling about Lakeside [shopping centre], so she’s very much back to normal,” he said, showing just how far Linda had come since her accident.
