Royal State Visit to the United States: Key Details Announced
Buckingham Palace has unveiled the official programme for the upcoming State Visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the United States, scheduled to take place from April 27 to April 30.
The royal visit will encompass engagements across three प्रमुख locations: Washington, D.C., New York, and the state of Virginia. The timing of the visit coincides with the United States’ commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a milestone of profound historical significance.

According to Buckingham Palace, the visit aims to reaffirm the enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, highlighting shared heritage as well as longstanding cooperation in economic, cultural, and security domains.
Upon arrival in Washington, the King and Queen are expected to receive an informal स्वागत from President Donald Trump and the First Lady, including a private tea. A formal welcoming ceremony at the White House will follow, featuring a ceremonial military review that underscores the depth of defence ties between the two nations.

A central highlight of the visit will be the King’s address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress—only the second time a British monarch has delivered such remarks, following Queen Elizabeth II’s historic speech in 1991. The address is anticipated to reflect on contemporary global challenges and the importance of transatlantic cooperation.
The State Dinner, hosted by the President and First Lady, will further reinforce diplomatic ties, with both leaders delivering formal remarks.

In addition to official engagements, the royal couple will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony to honour fallen service members from allied nations. This solemn tribute reflects the shared sacrifices underpinning the UK-US alliance.
The New York leg of the visit will focus on cultural and community connections. The King and Queen will pay tribute to victims of the September 11 attacks, ahead of the 25th anniversary later this year, and meet first responders as well as bereaved families. The programme will also include engagements with grassroots organisations addressing food insecurity and youth development.
Meanwhile, the Queen will attend a literary event marking the centenary of Winnie the Pooh, celebrating the shared literary heritage between the two nations. A reception hosted by The Queen’s Reading Room is expected to bring together leading figures from the publishing world.

In Virginia, the royal couple will engage with local communities and experience Appalachian cultural traditions. The King is also set to visit a national park, meeting indigenous representatives and environmental conservation groups—an area closely aligned with his long-standing advocacy.

Following the conclusion of the U.S. visit, King Charles will travel to Bermuda from May 1 to May 2 for his first official visit to a British Overseas Territory as Sovereign. The programme will include engagements focused on youth, biodiversity, and maritime security, alongside a formal استقبال ceremony featuring a Guard of Honour.
Officials from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have described the visit as a “historic opportunity” to reaffirm bilateral ties and showcase the st
