Robert Jenrick blasts Keir Starmer: “Labour is finished, he must go”
Amid escalating controversy surrounding Peter Mandelson, Reform UK MP Robert Jenrick has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, suggesting he is either “dishonest” or “fundamentally incapable” of leading the country.
Speaking on GB News, Jenrick argued that even the most charitable interpretation of the situation reflects poorly on the Prime Minister. He stated that if the best-case scenario is that Starmer is perceived as “clueless” and detached from the workings of his own government, it still raises serious concerns about his leadership.
Jenrick further claimed that Labour MPs in former “Red Wall” constituencies are increasingly aware of the political risks tied to Starmer’s leadership. According to him, the Prime Minister has become an electoral liability, potentially jeopardizing the party’s future in key regions.
Expanding his criticism beyond the Mandelson affair, Jenrick accused the government of being consumed by Westminster infighting while ordinary citizens face mounting pressures. He pointed to rising fuel costs, increasing small boat crossings across the English Channel, and job losses linked to high energy prices—issues he partly attributed to the economic policies of Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

He also dismissed upcoming parliamentary debates on the Mandelson issue as a “charade,” arguing that the government is effectively “paralysed” at a time when the country faces significant challenges.
Looking ahead to the May 7 local elections, Jenrick expressed strong confidence in Reform UK’s prospects, predicting a “seismic” outcome that could reshape British politics. He compared the moment to the historical decline of the Liberal Party, suggesting the UK may be on the verge of a major political realignment.
