Fans of Gogglebox are mourning the loss of Ken Harwood, who has died at the age of 77 following a short illness. The Channel 4 favourite, known for his warmth, humour, and heartfelt moments alongside his wife Anne, will be honoured in a special tribute at the end of tonight’s episode.
Studio Lambert, the production company behind the hit show, confirmed the sad news, saying
“Ken will be dearly missed by his wife Anne, sons Simon and Ross, daughter-in-law Elle, grandchildren Freya and Tristram, and all who knew him. There will be a tribute to Ken at the end of Channel 4’s episode on Gogglebox tonight.”
Ken, from County Durham, became a fan favourite after joining the programme with Anne in series 15. The couple appeared on the show for five series, from 2020 to 2022, sharing laughs, opinions, and genuine chemistry that touched the nation.
Before his television fame, Ken spent 30 years as a postmaster and later served as a local councillor until 2013. His warm personality and thoughtful gestures, including presenting Anne with a stunning bouquet of 50 roses — one for each year of their marriage — captured hearts and left a lasting legacy of love and devotion.
