Big Brother Star Nadia Almada Unrecognisable After Facelift Surgery in Turkey
Reality TV legend Nadia Almada, who made history as the first transgender contestant on Big Brother UK in 2004, has unveiled her new look after undergoing a facelift at a Turkish hospital. The 49-year-old, who gained further attention last year for losing six stone following a gastro sleeve procedure, emerged from the Trio Clinic in Istanbul, wrapped in bandages following the procedure.
Nadia, who is still recovering from the surgery, looked almost unrecognizable as her face was heavily wrapped in support bandages. Her nose, lips, and forehead were covered with bandages, leaving only her eyes visible. Despite the grueling aftermath, Nadia remained composed as she was assisted by aides to her car.
The emotional reality star has been candid about her journey, from her history-making appearance on Big Brother to her fight against discrimination. Last year, she spoke out against the Supreme Court ruling on transgender laws, expressing her deep concerns about the limitations placed on transgender people and the idea of being placed in a male ward should she need medical treatment.
In the interview, she also reflected on her identity and the way society perceives femininity, especially following the recent Supreme Court ruling. Nadia explained, “For me, it’s about my identity. I’m a woman first and foremost, and my trans identity comes second.”
Despite the challenges, Nadia continues to advocate for herself and others in the transgender community, and she remains resilient in the face of adversity.
