In a surprising career move, Martin Kemp has announced that he will be stepping down from his popular radio show on Greatest Hits Radio after five years. The Spandau Ballet star, who has captivated audiences with his weekend show The Mix Tape, revealed the news to his fans on Wednesday, March 25, leaving listeners gutted.
A Farewell to The Mix Tape 💔

At 64, Martin shared that his decision to leave the station was driven by a busy year ahead, including his Back to the 80s live shows. He will continue hosting The Mix Tape until next Saturday, April 4, but from April 10, fans can expect TV presenter Jenny Powell to take over the reins.
“I’ve had an incredible run on Greatest Hits Radio, but it’s time to let someone else share their Mix Tapes with the nation,” Martin said during his radio show. He expressed confidence in Jenny’s abilities, saying, “I know I’m leaving the listeners in safe hands with Jenny.”
Jenny Powell: The New Host 🎤

Jenny Powell, 57, is no stranger to radio and TV audiences. Best known for her role as the host of No Limits on BBC Two in the 1990s, Jenny also led Wheel of Fortune from 1995 to 2000 and worked as a competition presenter on Daybreak.
Expressing her excitement about the new role, Jenny said, “I’ve loved waking up with the Breakfast Club listeners on weekend mornings, but now it’s time for a change. I’m going to be swapping my early morning alarm calls and turning up the volume on Friday and Saturday nights for the iconic Mix Tape show! Can’t wait to share the music and big energy with everyone!”
