Lucy Fallon Opens Up About Parenting Struggles and Juggling Family Life with Her Footballer Fiancé
Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has shared a candid insight into the challenges of balancing her demanding career and family life. The 30-year-old actress, best known for playing Bethany Platt on the iconic ITV soap, admitted to the “huge struggle” of parenting her two young children while managing her busy filming schedule and fiancé Ryan Ledson’s football commitments.
Lucy, who is engaged to footballer Ryan Ledson, juggles life with their three-year-old son, Sonny, and their daughter Nancy, born in 2025. With Ryan frequently away for games, Lucy often finds herself handling parenting duties solo during the week, only for him to leave again on Fridays. “It’s hard because I’ve had a full week of parenting, most times solo, then at the weekend he’s away playing football,” she revealed.
Despite the challenges, Lucy credits her close-knit family, including her mother and Ryan’s, for helping ease the burden. “It takes a village,” she said, noting the support she receives from her family, which she recognizes as a privilege.
When the couple does find time together, their relationship thrives. Lucy fondly recalls the thoughtful gestures from Ryan, like making her a big pint of juice with ice after a long day. “Sometimes, I can come home and Ryan will say, ‘Oh, they’ve waited up for you,’ and I’ll think, ‘You’re lying,’” she joked.
In November, Lucy and Ryan announced their engagement at her 30th birthday party, marking a new chapter in their relationship. While Lucy briefly left Coronation Street in 2020, she has no intention of leaving again. “I don’t plan on doing it again,” she said, adding that although her schedule has been lighter recently, she expects to get busy again soon.
However, motherhood has its ups and downs, as Lucy recently faced a health scare with Nancy, who had to be rushed to the hospital. The actress reassured her followers on Instagram, saying, “Nancy was admitted to hospital on Monday… but she’s on the mend now.”
Despite the hectic lifestyle, Lucy’s love for her family and her career shines through as she navigates her roles as a devoted mother, actress, and fiancée.
