In a heartfelt Instagram post, Louise shared: “I am out of hospital in time for Easter thank goodness. Thanks to all of you for your messages. Profound thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff who have looked after me over the last two weeks both here in the UK and in Canada. Louise and her teammate, ultra-athlete Mimi Anderson, had been aiming to cycle 300 miles across the Arctic Circle to raise funds for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. However, they were forced to stop after enduring extreme cold temperatures, reaching lows of -40°C, which led to both women suffering from frostbite.NINTCHDBPICT001068267040

Reflecting on the incident, Louise explained, “We managed an incredible 140km – but faced bone-chilling lows of -40 degrees. When we got to this point, both of us knew we were very dangerously cold.”

Despite the setback, Louise remains positive, thanking the medical staff and assuring fans she is in good spirits as she recuperates. Fellow TV presenters, including Michelle Ackerley and Helen Skelton, have sent their well wishes, with Michelle commenting, “So good to hear you’re home. Hope you have a restful Easter,” and Helen adding, “Sending love, superwoman.”'Lorraine' TV show, London, UK - 19 Jul 2024
