Kerry Katona Rushed to Hospital After Fearing Stroke: ‘My Face Didn’t Look Right’

Kerry Katona has revealed that she was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing health concerns that led doctors to initially suspect she was having a stroke. The former Atomic Kitten singer, accompanied by her partner Paolo Margaglione and daughter Heidi, was alarmed when Heidi noticed her mother’s face appeared “not quite right.”

While attending her daughter Molly’s play in London, Kerry suddenly felt unwell and later told The Mirror, “I went to the bathroom and noticed my face didn’t look right. Heidi asked, ‘Mum, what’s wrong with your face?’ I started to panic, and I quietly left the venue, went back to the hotel, and asked to see a doctor. I told the staff, ‘Something’s not right.’”

Kerry was quickly transported to St Thomas’s Hospital and then transferred to King’s College Hospital. She described the experience, saying, “They told me, ‘We’re treating this like a stroke,’ and they immediately started working on me.”

The 45-year-old mother of five explained how, just an hour before, she had been enjoying watching her daughter perform. “One minute I was watching Molly, and the next, I’m being treated for a stroke. What’s happening? This shows how quickly things can change.”

After undergoing a CT scan, doctors confirmed that a stroke had been ruled out. Despite feeling “really scared,” Kerry was relieved, though she still suffers from occasional head pains and slurred speech. She has since been advised to pursue speech therapy and facial exercises to aid her recovery.

Kerry’s health scare comes as she prepares to celebrate the 12th birthday of her son, Dylan-Jorge (DJ), in Spain with her family. She shared her deep gratitude for the support of her new partner, Paolo, with whom she has found a new sense of happiness and stability.

Reflecting on her relationship with Paolo, Kerry described him as “completely unique,” adding, “I’ve never met anyone like him. I worry because I think it’s too good to be true, but I’m so touched when I talk about him. I’m lucky to have found him.”

With Kerry’s determination to overcome her health challenges, her journey of recovery continues, supported by her loved ones and her newfound love.
