Karoline Leavitt has given followers a warm glimpse into her life away from the White House podium, sharing sweet family photos from a summer camp-themed pool party hosted by Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance.
The 28-year-old White House press secretary, who is currently on maternity leave, attended the Saturday gathering with her husband Nicholas Riccio and their two children, toddler son Niko and newborn daughter Viviana. The family posed together under a playful “Camp VPR” sign at the vice president’s residence, turning the high-profile Washington setting into a cheerful family day out.

Leavitt looked bright and polished in a red-and-white striped dress, black sunglasses and black shoes as she enjoyed the outdoor celebration. But the real scene-stealers were her children, especially baby Viviana, who was born on May 1.
In one particularly tender update, Leavitt shared a selfie with her newborn daughter and captioned it: “Me & my girly!!!” It was a soft, personal moment from a woman more often seen handling press questions, political headlines and the pressure of one of the most visible jobs in Washington.
The party itself was designed with children in mind. Photos and videos showed the Vance residence transformed into a backyard summer camp, complete with “Welcome Campers!” decorations, bounce houses, a rock-climbing wall and lawn games.
For Leavitt, the outing marked another glimpse into her “newborn bubble” after welcoming her second child with Riccio. She previously announced her pregnancy in December 2025, calling the baby girl “the greatest Christmas gift,” and has since shared occasional family moments while spending time at home.

The post also highlighted the growing family world around the Trump administration’s younger political figures. Usha and JD Vance are themselves preparing to welcome their fourth child, a baby boy due in late July, making the camp-themed party feel especially fitting as both families navigate public life and parenthood at the same time.
Leavitt has not publicly confirmed exactly how long she will remain away from her duties. Reports have noted that deputy press secretary Anna Kelly and assistant press secretaries Taylor Rogers and Liz Huston may help cover briefing responsibilities while she is on leave.

But for one summer weekend, the focus was not on briefing rooms, cameras or political clashes.
It was on children laughing, families gathering, and a new mother soaking up time with her baby girl. 💛
The contrast is what made the photos so charming. At work, Leavitt is known for rapid responses and high-pressure messaging. At the Vance residence, she was simply a mum holding her newborn, smiling with her husband and watching her son enjoy a day built around childhood fun.

A “Camp VPR” sign.
A backyard full of games.
A tiny newborn in her mother’s arms.
And for Karoline Leavitt, a rare public reminder that behind the politics is a young family enjoying one of life’s sweetest seasons.
