Jordan Brook has said he has no plans to propose to his girlfriend Sophie Kasaei in the near future, despite the couple preparing to welcome their first child together.
The Only Way Is Essex star, 31, went through a terrifying health ordeal after contracting meningitis. The illness left him hospitalised for several weeks and, at one point, unable to walk or speak properly.
Speaking on the You Alright Hun? podcast, Jordan admitted that both his body and mind are still not fully recovered. He said he had experienced a limp in his right leg and now becomes easily overwhelmed by loud sounds and crowded places — the very environments he once loved.
Jordan said the illness has left him feeling like a “shell” of himself, while he continues to worry about his strength and the recovery journey ahead.
Throughout the difficult period, Jordan paid an emotional tribute to Sophie, who has supported him while heavily pregnant. He said he does not know how he would have got through everything without her by his side.
However, when it comes to marriage, Jordan revealed that Sophie does not want to be proposed to while she is pregnant. As a result, the couple have decided to focus on welcoming their baby boy first before thinking about a wedding.
Jordan also admitted their marriage plans could be delayed by a few more years, especially if the couple decide they want to have their children close together.
He previously said that becoming a father was the one thing that gave him the strength to keep fighting through his illness. Although their baby is due soon, Jordan and Sophie are still considering names for their son, as they have yet to fully agree on a final choice.
