Nolan, who was also the beloved uncle of legendary director Christopher Nolan, was remembered by his wife, Kim Hartman, as “a free spirit” with “an anarchic wit” and “the kindest person” she ever knew.
Born on May 22, 1938, Nolan’s career spanned decades, with memorable roles including the villainous John Greer in the CBS sci-fi drama Person of Interest, which was created by his nephews, Jonathan and Christopher. His acting career also saw him portraying Douglas Fredericks in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises, as well as a poignant role as a blind war vet in Dunkirk.
