Geri Halliwell And Christian Horner ‘Eye £45million Pride And Prejudice Estate’ As Couple Plan Countryside Move
Geri Halliwell and Christian Horner are reportedly considering a spectacular £45million country estate that once appeared in the BBC’s celebrated adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
The couple are said to have held discussions with property agents about Edgcote House, a Grade I-listed Georgian mansion located on the Northamptonshire-Oxfordshire border.

Sources claim the former Spice Girl and the ex-Formula One executive are “extremely interested” in the historic property and have visited the estate several times.
Set within approximately 1,704 acres, Edgcote includes the grand main house, 31 additional residential properties and its own racecourse.
The equestrian facilities are believed to be particularly attractive to Geri, who has a well-known love of horses and country life.
A source said the couple already know the estate well because their current home is only around five miles away.
“Geri and Christian are very familiar with Edgcote,” the insider claimed. “Living there would be a dream for them.
“They have viewed it several times and are very keen on the property.”
Geri, 53, and Christian, 52, currently live with their family in a country home reportedly valued at £9.2million.
The couple married in 2015 and share son Montague, while both also have children from previous relationships.
Their reported interest in Edgcote comes amid claims that they have experienced disagreements with local planning officials over proposed work at their existing property.
A source suggested that those difficulties had made the prospect of moving particularly appealing.
They said representatives for the couple had held conversations with the estate’s owners and agents, although no sale has been publicly confirmed.
The £45million asking price may be considerable, but the couple are believed to have the financial resources required to pursue such an extraordinary purchase.
Christian was reportedly awarded a substantial settlement after leaving Red Bull, where he had served as team principal during one of the most successful periods in Formula One history.
Reports suggested that the compensation package could have been worth as much as £80million, although the precise figure has not been officially confirmed.
Geri also built a considerable fortune as a member of the Spice Girls, one of the most successful pop groups of all time.
The band dominated the charts during the 1990s and sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
Her reported interest in Edgcote marks another remarkable chapter for the singer, who grew up on a council estate in Watford before achieving global fame as Ginger Spice.
Edgcote House is being offered for sale for the first time in almost a century.
The present mansion was constructed between 1748 and 1754 and has been described by estate agent Savills as an outstanding example of a traditional English country estate.
Its elegant Georgian architecture, sweeping lawns and secluded surroundings have also made it an attractive filming location.
The estate appeared as Netherfield Park in the BBC’s hugely popular 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
The series starred Colin Firth as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet and remains one of Britain’s best-loved period dramas.
Netherfield is the grand residence rented by Mr Bingley, whose arrival in the neighbourhood sets much of Austen’s romantic story in motion.
Owning the real-life estate would therefore give Geri and Christian a direct connection to one of the most recognisable productions in British television history.
The property also has links stretching back centuries before the BBC drama.
Following the execution of Henry VIII’s adviser Thomas Cromwell, the estate was reportedly granted to Anne of Cleves, the king’s fourth wife, as part of the settlement surrounding the annulment of their marriage.
The possibility of Geri moving into the area has already attracted attention from residents.
At The Hare and Hounds pub in nearby Wardington, locals were said to be discussing the prospect of having a Spice Girl as a neighbour.
One resident joked that her arrival might finally bring some excitement to the peaceful rural community.
The reported house hunt comes as Geri continues to expand her life beyond music.
In recent years, she has focused on writing, family projects and television appearances, while maintaining the polished country lifestyle frequently shared with followers online.
Reports have also suggested that she could front a new lifestyle series, although no official programme has yet been announced.
For the moment, Edgcote remains on the market and there is no confirmation that Geri and Christian have submitted a formal offer.
However, with its racing facilities, extraordinary history and cinematic connections, the estate appears to offer almost everything the couple could want from a new countryside home.
