Fox News is shaking up its weekend programming with the debut of a new Sunday show, “The Sunday Briefing,” set to premiere on September 21. The new program will replace “MediaBuzz,” the long-running media analysis show, and is designed to focus on political developments, particularly those involving the presidency.

“The Sunday Briefing” will be hosted by senior White House correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich. The two journalists, who have covered the White House for Fox News since 2021, will alternate as solo anchors, bringing their firsthand reporting experience from inside the briefing room to the show.
The show will tackle a wide range of topics, including both domestic and international decisions made by the administration, as well as key policy issues shaping the current political landscape. Fox News executives hope the program will deliver a comprehensive breakdown of important political events each week.

As a result of this change, “MediaBuzz,” which has been a staple of Fox News’ Sunday programming since 2013 and was hosted by Howie Kurtz, will be coming to an end. While Kurtz will be leaving the show, he will remain with Fox News in a new role as a political media analyst and will continue hosting his podcast. His final “MediaBuzz” broadcast is scheduled for Sunday.
Additionally, Fox News is implementing other changes to its weekend lineup. A new two-hour program, “Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany,” will air at 10 a.m. Eastern. McEnany, who joined Fox News in March 2021, will continue co-hosting “Outnumbered” during the week.

Meanwhile, “Fox & Friends Weekend” will see the addition of correspondent Griff Jenkins as a co-host, alongside Rachel Campos-Duffy and Charlie Hurt. Jenkins will be filling the role previously held by Pete Hegseth, who left to serve as Secretary of Defense.
Tomi Lahren and Johnny Jones will also become permanent co-hosts of “The Big Weekend Show,” solidifying the panel lineup moving forward.

With these changes, Fox News is aiming to strengthen its political coverage and expand its weekend programming offerings, with a particular focus on delivering detailed analysis and insight into the workings of the U.S. government.
