Dick and Angel Strawbridge Share Rare Family Photo as They Kick Off Easter Weekend Four Years After Escape to the Chateau Departure

Dick and Angel Strawbridge have shared a rare family photo on Instagram as they begin their Easter Bank Holiday weekend, four years after leaving Escape to the Chateau. The couple, known for their charming portrayal of life in their sprawling French chateau, posted the photo with their children, Arthur (12) and Dorothy (11), as well as Angel’s parents, Stephen and Jenny.

In the heartfelt snap, the family is seen enjoying a sunny spring evening at the entrance of their beloved chateau. The couple captioned the image: “Family selfie taken right here… right now in our Forever Home! 3 generations enjoying a sunny spring evening ❤️.”

A Return to Television After a Break

The Strawbridge's shared a rare family photo on Instagram on Thursday as they kicked off the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, four years after quitting their show Escape To The Chateau (Dick and Angel pictured with children, Arthur, 12, and Dorothy, 11, and Angel's parents, Stephen and Jenny)

The family photo comes several months after the Strawbridges enjoyed a heartwarming reunion with one of their longtime filming crew members. After stepping away from Escape to the Chateau due to bullying allegations, the couple is now preparing to return to TV. They officially announced the production of Series 10 of the show in November 2025.

“After much thought, we are delighted to announce that we are officially back in production for Escape to the Chateau, Series 10!” they shared on Instagram, expressing their excitement about returning to the cameras. “It’s been wonderful welcoming back our filming family—the unsung heroes behind the scenes.”

A Joyful Reunion and the Next Chapter

As part of their announcement, Dick and Angel shared a sweet reunion moment with Olga, a crew member from the 2021 filming, highlighting the personal connections they’ve made through their journey. “What a pleasure to have a surprise visit from our Olga… part of our 2021 Escape to the Chateau filming crew!” they wrote. “Look at the difference a few years make!”

The couple also revealed that the new series will focus more on their parenting journey, with less emphasis on the chateau renovations that made the show so popular. “Since we first fell in love with the Chateau in 2014, it has taken us on the journey of a lifetime,” Dick and Angel shared. “Now, as a family, we’ve stepped into a new era. Arthur and Dorothy are happily settled into school, and Series 10 brings more change and growth than the Chateau has ever seen.”

A Bitter Backlash and a Strong Comeback

The couple's popular Channel 4 show aired 50 episodes over nine seasons, before it was dramatically axed in 2022 due to allegations of behind-the-scenes bust-ups (pictured 2018)

The couple’s return to TV comes after a turbulent period, during which they were engulfed in a bullying scandal. In May 2023, Channel 4 confirmed they would no longer work with the Strawbridges after an independent investigation into their conduct. The decision came after a leaked recording revealed Angel’s expletive-laden rant towards a producer. In the aftermath, Angel defended her actions, admitting to losing her temper but standing by her words.

“I don’t apologize for what I did. He was so disrespectful, and I was just defending myself,” Angel stated in a podcast interview. Despite the controversy, the couple has found peace in their family and business, focusing on their children and the love they share.
