Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey is celebrating a major personal milestone after announcing his engagement to longtime girlfriend Ana Demmer.
The couple revealed the happy news through a series of romantic Instagram posts shared on June 10 and June 11.
Humphrey proposed at Libations & Company, a cocktail bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with photographs capturing the couple’s emotional celebration.
“The strongest invisible string there is, and will be — it’s you and me,” Demmer wrote beside the images. “Here, tomorrow, and forever.”
The announcement quickly attracted messages from some of Kansas City’s biggest stars, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce.
Chiefs stars celebrate the couple
Kelce responded enthusiastically beneath the engagement photographs.
“Let’s gooooo! Congratulations!” he wrote.
Mahomes also celebrated the news with a simple but excited message: “Congrats!”
His wife, Brittany Mahomes, joined the congratulations, writing: “Congrats guys!”
Chiefs teammates George Karlaftis and Trey Smith also sent their best wishes.
The reaction reflected the close relationships Humphrey has developed inside the Kansas City locker room since joining the franchise in 2021.
While offensive linemen rarely receive the same attention as quarterbacks or star receivers, Humphrey has become one of the most respected and important players on the Chiefs’ roster.
Their relationship became public after a championship
Humphrey and Demmer had reportedly been dating for several months before publicly confirming their relationship.
The couple waited until Kansas City’s championship ring ceremony following its Super Bowl LVIII victory before sharing their romance more openly.
Demmer later said the response from supporters had been overwhelmingly positive.
She described receiving an enormous amount of love from Chiefs fans who were simply happy for the pair.
Since then, she has become a familiar presence at games, tailgates and team events.
The engagement now marks the next stage of a relationship that has developed alongside another successful period in Humphrey’s football career.
Ana embraces Kansas City
Demmer has spoken warmly about building a life in the Kansas City area.
She has used her social-media platform to promote local businesses and express her affection for the community surrounding the Chiefs.
“If there’s anything I want to do, it’s to help the people of Kansas City,” she previously said.
Her connection to the city became even stronger after Humphrey signed a four-year contract extension with the Chiefs in 2024.
The agreement secured his future with the organization through the 2028 season.
Demmer said the couple loved both Kansas City and the Chiefs, adding that they hoped to remain part of the community for years.
Their decision to hold the proposal in Lee’s Summit made the moment especially fitting.
Rather than choosing a distant luxury destination, Humphrey proposed close to the city that has become central to both their lives.
One of the NFL’s best centers
Away from his engagement, Humphrey remains one of the most accomplished offensive linemen in football.
The Chiefs selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
He immediately became a starter and has since appeared in every possible regular-season game.
Humphrey has earned four Pro Bowl selections and has been named an All-Pro in each of the past two seasons.
His intelligence, strength and athleticism have made him essential to Kansas City’s offense.
As the center, he is responsible for identifying defensive pressure, communicating blocking assignments and delivering the snap to Mahomes before every play.
His consistency has also helped stabilize an offensive line that has experienced significant change at other positions.
Another enormous contract could follow
Humphrey is already under contract through 2028, but analysts believe an even larger payday could eventually await him.
ESPN’s Bill Barnwell recently predicted that Humphrey may become the first center in NFL history to approach an annual salary of $30 million.
Humphrey could enter the same 2029 free-agent class as Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum and Tampa Bay Buccaneers lineman Graham Barton.
However, Barnwell suggested that many league observers currently regard Humphrey as the best player of the group.
His ability to move quickly, handle powerful defensive tackles without assistance and protect Mahomes makes him unusually valuable.
There have occasionally been concerns about low snaps, but those issues have not outweighed his overall influence on the Chiefs’ offense.
Kansas City may therefore attempt to negotiate another extension before his current agreement expires.
Building his future on and off the field
Humphrey’s engagement arrives during a defining period in both his personal and professional life.
He has established himself as one of the league’s premier centers.
He has won championships with Kansas City.
He has secured a long-term contract with the only NFL team he has represented.
And now he is preparing to marry the woman who has embraced both his career and the city they call home.
The messages from Kelce, Mahomes and other teammates showed how warmly the news was received within the Chiefs organization.
For Humphrey, the offseason may still involve training, preparation and thoughts about another championship run.
But his biggest victory this week happened away from the football field.
He proposed.
Ana said yes.
And Chiefs Kingdom immediately joined the celebration.
