Bobby Norris, the ever-dramatic star of The Only Way Is Essex, has spoken candidly about his extensive cosmetic work, admitting he spent over £50,000 on fillers before deciding on a full facelift. The 39-year-old reality star also revealed that he hopes to finally reconcile a seven-year feud with his former best friend Gemma Collins.
Appearing on The Vanessa Feltz Show this week, Bobby opened up about a decade of “abusing fillers” and the toll it took on his appearance. “I think the penny is slowly dropping that I’m really open,” he said. “I’ve been on reality TV for 10, 15 years, doing various shows and social media. It’s an open book. I’m not going to put the genie back in the bottle.”
Vanessa Feltz reminded him of his public image, noting: “One of the reasons you’ve been in the papers a lot recently is all the cosmetic work and treatments, and surgeries. You’ve had quite a lot of them.”
Bobby did not shy away from the topic, detailing the procedures he has undergone. “Right, so what’s still left? Nose is different, teeth are different, hairline, beard, face, cheeks, neck—everything, apart from the eyes,” he admitted. He also explained that a decade of overusing fillers—stretching out cheeks and lips—prompted him to pursue more permanent surgical options to restore balance and symmetry to his face.
“I didn’t get it to look 16,” he said. “But having been in TOWIE for 10 years, I abused fillers, I stretched my cheeks out, lips out. Now, if you’re subtle with them, you can have them removed.”
When Vanessa asked how much he had spent on fillers over the years, Bobby replied candidly, “Oh, if you were… someone said it’s more than 50 grand.” He also shared recent images showing his face swollen and bruised after the facelift, demonstrating that the transformation is real and the procedures significant.
Yet Bobby’s appearance isn’t the only topic on his mind. The reality star also spoke about his long-running feud with Gemma Collins. The former friends, who became close on TOWIE, have not spoken for seven years. Asked what he would say if she were in the studio, Bobby reflected: “I’d say let’s catch up. Let’s go and have some lunch. We used to have the best times… We’d go to a health farm for one day and still be there a week later. We all grow up, don’t we? And things you fall out over—it wasn’t anything overly deep.”
Bobby framed the disagreement in terms of loyalty, noting that mismatched effort in friendships can strain relationships. “You can bring your 100% loyalty to someone and if they’re only going to match it with 70, can I be angry? That’s the way I see it.”
Bobby’s cosmetic journey has been extensive. During the interview, he disclosed that he has had upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty), buccal fat removal to contour his cheeks, liposuction under his chin, and 360-degree body liposuction. He previously admitted to “falling down the rabbit hole of having fillers,” often accepting complimentary treatments during his years on TOWIE.
The reality star reflected on the consequences of overdoing cosmetic work. “Sometimes you aren’t aware of how you look until you see certain pictures or a paparazzi shot. I don’t look like me anymore,” he admitted. The long-term impact of procedures like buccal fat removal, which removes fat pads that naturally keep the face youthful, has been a topic of discussion among cosmetic experts. Dr Mo Hamed, a specialist in natural aesthetics, noted that Bobby’s enhancements—including Botox, jawline, and cheek fillers—had progressed to non-reversible surgical interventions.
Despite the drastic measures, Bobby insisted on transparency. “I’ve documented the whole thing. There are photos and videos I could have posted but didn’t. Surgery isn’t like a TV makeover where you walk in and in 20 minutes, you have a new face or new boobs. That isn’t reality.”
Bobby first joined TOWIE in 2012 and became known for his friendships—especially with Gemma Collins—and relationships with co-stars, including Harry Derbidge. While he has endured speculation and rumors about gender reassignment surgery, he clarified last year that the transformations were purely cosmetic.
His recent interview highlighted both the physical and emotional sides of his journey. While the facelift addressed years of filler overuse, the conversation about Gemma reveals a softer, reflective side. “It’s just about loyalty and understanding,” he said, indicating a willingness to rebuild bridges if possible.
Fans of Bobby have followed the journey with fascination, witnessing a reality star unafraid to show vulnerability. From admitting past mistakes with cosmetic treatments to expressing hope for reconciliation, Bobby offers a blend of honesty and resilience rarely seen in reality television.
With surgery completed, the TOWIE star appears more confident in his appearance but remains grounded about the process. His transparency may inspire others contemplating cosmetic procedures, providing a candid perspective on both the benefits and consequences of overuse.
As Bobby looks to move forward, both personally and professionally, the story isn’t just about his physical transformation—it’s also about growth, forgiveness, and the complexities of friendships in the high-pressure world of reality TV.
From his early days on TOWIE to the present, Bobby Norris has consistently been a figure in the public eye, navigating fame, relationships, and now, significant cosmetic changes. His story reflects a willingness to be open about both mistakes and aspirations, demonstrating that even the most glamorous reality star faces struggles, reconciliations, and life-altering decisions.
With a facelift now complete and a potential reconciliation with Gemma on the horizon, Bobby’s narrative is both cautionary and hopeful—an honest look at the realities of cosmetic enhancements and the evolving dynamics of long-term friendships in the public spotlight.
