The Sherlock star was confronted by a man in red trousers, who accused him of breaking the law and yelled, “You’re deluded!” and “You’re lying!” during a tense exchange that shocked onlookers.
A video shows the heated altercation as Benedict stood his ground, claiming he was being “verbally abused” by the other cyclist. Before the argument started, a witness reported seeing Benedict’s cargo bike run a red light, with the other cyclist following closely behind.
The disagreement quickly escalated when Benedict walked across the road to confront the masked cyclist. The two exchanged sharp words, with the other man accusing Benedict of running multiple lights. Benedict admitted he had “done it once,” but denied the more serious allegations.
Despite the intensity of the altercation, which lasted for about ten minutes, Benedict remained composed, even offering a smile and a selfie to two young fans afterward.
A witness, who filmed the incident, said: “It felt like a staged road rage moment, but Benedict still managed to charm everyone watching, even though he was visibly upset. It was wild!”
The altercation drew attention from nearby schoolchildren, who asked if the man was “Doctor Strange” and requested a picture with him. Benedict, despite the tense moment, was polite and promised to take a photo after the situation calmed down.
