‘Amandaland’ Returns for Comic Relief – And This Time There Are FIVE Famous Amandas!

Fans of the hit comedy Amandaland are in for a treat as the beloved Motherland spin-off returns with a special Comic Relief sketch – and it promises chaos, comedy and a truly unforgettable twist.

The upcoming Red Nose Day special will feature not one… not two… but five iconic Amandas sharing the screen in what insiders are calling an “unmissable” comedy moment. 😂

At the heart of the sketch is Amanda Hughes, played by Lucy Punch, the glamorous yet hilariously chaotic mum fans know and love. In the new special, Amanda is invited to collaborate on BBC Radio 2 alongside her loyal friend Anne Flynn, played by Phillipa Dunne.

But things quickly spiral into confusion when Amanda arrives at Broadcasting House and suddenly finds herself surrounded by… more Amandas than she ever expected.

The sketch will also feature Sara Cox playing a radio DJ, while Lydia West stars as an overwhelmed producer trying desperately to keep the broadcast from collapsing into chaos.

Sara Cox joked about the experience:

“I was playing the DJ, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch! But it was amazing working with the actual Amanda from Amandaland and so many iconic Amandas.”

The comedy has become a fan favourite since launching as a spin-off from the hugely popular BBC sitcom Motherland.

The show follows the chaotic life of Amanda Hughes, a recently divorced mum juggling school politics, friendships and relationships while trying to maintain her perfectly polished image.

The Amandaland Christmas special was already a massive success, drawing more than seven million viewers, with comedy legends Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders reuniting for the episode.
